FAA Issues 2013 Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Percentage Rates

 FAA ISSUES 2013 RANDOM DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING PERCENTAGE RATES

Today, FAA published the Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Percentage Rates of Covered Aviation Employees for January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013.  The FAA has determined that the minimum random drug and alcohol testing percentage rates will remain at 25 % of safety-sensitive employees for random drug testing and 10 % of safety-sensitive employees for random alcohol testing.

FAA & PHMSA EXTEND COMPLIANCE DATE FOR AIR CARRIER HAZMAT PASSENGER NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Today, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) issued an Advisory Notice extending the compliance deadline for air carrier hazardous materials (HAZMAT) passenger notification requirements. The Advisory Notice extends the deadline to a date no earlier than January 1, 2014.

NTSB ISSUES FINAL RULE AMENDING RULES OF PRACTICE

Last week, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) amended its regulations setting forth rules of procedure for the NTSB’s review of certificate actions taken by the FAA, as well as its regulations setting forth rules of procedure concerning applications for fees and expenses under the  Equal Access to Justice Act of 1980 (EAJA).
